[ESV] 13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, 14 saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” 15 And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise. 16 For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation. 17 So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. 19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

'돛단배와 범선'은 돛으로 바람을 이용하여 동력을 얻어 움직이는 배를 말합니다.
돛이 없으면 아무리 배가 훌륭하게 만들어졌어도 무용지물입니다. 돛의 적절한 조절은 또한 배의 방향과 속도에 영향을 미칩니다. 돛은 또한 배의 위용을 자랑하며 가장 눈에 잘 띄는 곳에 위치 합니다. 돛은 배의 움직임과 활동의 영역에 속한 필수 도구입니다.
그런데, 배에 없어서는 안될 필수품이 있습니다. 바로 '닻'입니다. 닻은 정박용입니다. '쉼'입니다. '멈춤'입니다. 닻은 누군가에 대한 '기다림'입니다. 닻이 준비되지 않은 배는 모든 것을 갖추었어도 실상은 아무것도 갖추지 않은 것입니다. 그런데 사람들은 시선을 잘 주지 않습니다. 우리는 닻이 장착되지 않은 배는 출항시키지 않습니다. 갈수는 있으나 멈출 수 없기 때문에 파선이 기다리고 있을 뿐입니다. 배는 돛과 닻을 적절하게 잘 사용해야 합니다.
성경은 예수님을 우리가 붙잡아야 할 '닻'이라고 말합니다. 예수라고 하는 닻이 없는 인생은 파선하게 됩니다. 인생의 닻을 준비하십시요. 사람들에게 잘 보이는 돛을 준비하는 것보다 눈에 띄지 않지만 닻을 준비하는 것이 더 안전한 인생입니다. 예수님은 우리 "영혼의 닻"이십니다. (돛과 닻, GMW연합) https://blog.naver.com/dreamteller/221017231471
- Sailing ships and sailing vessels are ships that use sails to harness the power of the wind to move.
Without sails, a ship is useless, no matter how well it is built. Properly adjusted sails also affect a ship's direction and speed. The sails also give the ship its majesty and are the most visible part of the ship. Sails are an essential tool that belongs to the ship's realm of movement and activity.
However, there is an indispensable necessity for a ship. It's called an anchor. An anchor is for anchoring; it is a 'rest'; it is a 'stop'. An anchor is a 'wait' for someone. A ship without an anchor is a ship that has everything, but really has nothing, and people don't pay attention to it. We don't set sail for a ship without an anchor. It can go, but it can't stop, so it's just a shipwreck waiting to happen. A ship must have sails and anchors and use them properly and well. The Bible refers to Jesus as the “anchor” we need to hold onto. A life without the anchor called Jesus is a shipwreck. It's a safer life to have an anchor in your life, even if it's out of sight, than it is to have a sail that is highly visible to others. Jesus is our “soul anchor.”

1. 아브라함에게 약속하신 하나님 - God who promised Abraham.

하나님은 우리의 연역함을 아시고 말씀으로 약속하시고 맹세로 확증하셨다. - God, knowing our reasoning, has promised by word and confirmed by oath.
2. 하신 약속을 맹세로 보증하신 하나님 - God who guaranteed His promises with an oath.

하나님의 말씀을 신뢰하고 그분께 소망을 두라. - Trust God's Word and put your hope in Him.

우리의 영혼의 닻이시요 하나님 우편에서 우리를 위해 간구하시는 예수 그리스도를 바라보라. - Look to Jesus Christ, the anchor of our souls, who intercedes for us at the right hand of God.
