23.믿음으로 모세가 났을 때에 그 부모가 아름다운 아이임을 보고 석 달 동안 숨겨 왕의 명령을 무서워하지 아니하였으며 24.믿음으로 모세는 장성하여 바로의 공주의 아들이라 칭함 받기를 거절하고 25.도리어 하나님의 백성과 함께 고난 받기를 잠시 죄악의 낙을 누리는 것보다 더 좋아하고 26.그리스도를 위하여 받는 수모를 애굽의 모든 보화보다 더 큰 재물로 여겼으니 이는 상 주심을 바라봄이라 27.믿음으로 애굽을 떠나 왕의 노함을 무서워하지 아니하고 곧 보이지 아니하는 자를 보는 것 같이 하여 참았으며 28.믿음으로 유월절과 피 뿌리는 예식을 정하였으니 이는 장자를 멸하는 자로 그들을 건드리지 않게 하려 한 것이며 29.믿음으로 그들은 홍해를 육지 같이 건넜으나 애굽 사람들은 이것을 시험하다가 빠져 죽었으며 30.믿음으로 칠 일 동안 여리고를 도니 성이 무너졌으며 31.믿음으로 기생 라합은 정탐꾼을 평안히 영접하였으므로 순종하지 아니한 자와 함께 멸망하지 아니하였도다. [ESV] 23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they were not afraid of the king's edict. 24 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not being afraid of the anger of the king, for he endured as seeing him who is invisible. 28 By faith he kept the Passover and sprinkled the blood, so that the Destroyer of the firstborn might not touch them. 29 By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days. 31 By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.
Question: 구원을 가능하게 하고 상급 받는 믿음이란? - What is the faith that makes salvation possible and receives reward?

신명기(Deuteronomy) 18:15-22, 15.네 하나님 여호와께서 너희 가운데 네 형제 중에서 너를 위하여 나와 같은 선지자 하나를 일으키시리니 너희는 그의 말을 들을지니라 16.이것이 곧 네가 총회의 날에 호렙 산에서 네 하나님 여호와께 구한 것이라 곧 네가 말하기를 내가 다시는 내 하나님 여호와의 음성을 듣지 않게 하시고 다시는 이 큰 불을 보지 않게 하소서 두렵건대 내가 죽을까 하나이다 하매 17.여호와께서 내게 이르시되 그들의 말이 옳도다 18.내가 그들의 형제 중에서 너와 같은 선지자 하나를 그들을 위하여 일으키고 내 말을 그 입에 두리니 내가 그에게 명령하는 것을 그가 무리에게 다 말하리라 19.누구든지 내 이름으로 전하는 내 말을 듣지 아니하는 자는 내게 벌을 받을 것이요 20.만일 어떤 선지자가 내가 전하라고 명령하지 아니한 말을 제 마음대로 내 이름으로 전하든지 다른 신들의 이름으로 말하면 그 선지자는 죽임을 당하리라 하셨느니라 21.네가 마음속으로 이르기를 그 말이 여호와께서 이르신 말씀인지 우리가 어떻게 알리요 하리라 22.만일 선지자가 있어 여호와의 이름으로 말한 일에 증험도 없고 성취함도 없으면 이는 여호와께서 말씀하신 것이 아니요 그 선지자가 제 마음대로 한 말이니 너는 그를 두려워하지 말지니라. 15 “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen— 16 just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.’ 17 And the Lord said to me, ‘They are right in what they have spoken. 18 I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. 19 And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him. 20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.
모세는 자기와 같은 선지자를 보내 주신다는 하나님의 말씀을 믿음으로 받고 살았다.

1. 모세의 믿음 - The Faith of Moses

She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her servant woman, and she took it. 6 When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby was crying. She took pity on him and said, “This is one of the Hebrews' children.” 7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, “Shall I go and call you a nurse from the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you?” 8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, “Go.” So the girl went and called the child's mother. 9 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.”
애굽왕 보다 하나님을 더 경외한 모세의 부모의 믿음은 모세에게 그대로 전수 되었다.
- The faith of Moses' parents, who feared God more than the king of Egypt, was passed down to Moses.
2. 이스라엘 백성들의 믿음 - The Faith of the Israelites
히브리서(Hebrews) 11:29-30, 29.믿음으로 그들은 홍해를 육지 같이 건넜으나 애굽 사람들은 이것을 시험하다가 빠져 죽었으며 30.믿음으로 칠 일 동안 여리고를 도니 성이 무너졌으며 29 By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days.
광야에서 불평 불만이 많았던 이스라엘 백성들도 믿음의 지도자의 인도에 따라 믿음의 발걸음을 내디딤으로 믿음의 역사를 경험하였다. - The Israelites, who had much complaint and discontent in the wilderness, also experienced the work of faith by taking steps of faith under the guidance of a leader of faith.
3. 기생 라합의 믿음 - The Faith of Rahab the Prostitute
히브리서(Hebrews) 11:31, 31.믿음으로 기생 라합은 정탐꾼을 평안히 영접하였으므로 순종하지 아니한 자와 함께 멸망하지 아니하였도다. 31 By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.
히브리서(Hebrews) 11:6, 6.믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 못하나니 하나님께 나아가는 자는 반드시 그가 계신 것과 또한 그가 자기를 찾는 자들에게 상 주시는 이심을 믿어야 할지니라. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
기생 라합은 자신의 비천한 처지에 낙심만 하지 않고 소문을 통해 전해온 말씀을 믿음으로 받고 반응함으로 자신과 가족을 구원하고 다윗과 예수님의 조상이 되었다. - Rahab the prostitute did not merely despair over her lowly circumstances; she received and responded with faith to the word conveyed through rumors, thereby saving herself and her family and becoming an ancestor of David and Jesus.
‘세상이 오늘 당신에게 약속하는 것을 위해 살지 마십시오! 하나님이 미래에 당신에게 약속하신 것을 위해 살아가십시오!’ - ‘Don’t live for what the world will promise you today! Live for what God has promised you in the future!’ - Warren Wiersbe –
CONCLUSION: 사랑하는 성도들이 보이지 않지만 상 주시는 주님을 믿음으로 바라보고 말씀따라 순종하며 살아가시기 바랍니다. – I pray that you look to the Lord with faith who are not visible but rewards us, so that you may live in obedience to His Word.
