문1. 사람의 제일되는 목적이 무엇인가? -Q1. What is man's primary purpose?

답. 사람의 제일되는 목적은 하나님을 영화롭게 하는 것과 영원토록 그를 즐거워 하는 것이다. -Man's primary purpose is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.

 

(1) 하나님을 영화롭게 하는 것이며 - To glorify God.

요한복음(John) 11:4, 4.예수께서 들으시고 이르시되 이 병은 죽을 병이 아니라 하나님의 영광을 위함이요 하나님의 아들이 이로 말미암아 영광을 받게 하려 함이라 하시더라. 4.When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." 

고린도전서(1 Corinthians) 10:31, 31.그런즉 너희가 먹든지 마시든지 무엇을 하든지 다 하나님의 영광을 위하여 하라. 31.So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

요한계시록(Revelation) 4:11, 11.우리 주 하나님이여 영광과 존귀와 권능을 받으시는 것이 합당하오니 주께서 만물을 지으신지라 만물이 주의 뜻대로 있었고 또 지으심을 받았나이다 하더라. 11."You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." 

 

(2) 영원토록 그를 즐거워하는 것 - To enjoy him forever.

시편(Psalms) 73:25-26, 25.하늘에서는 주 외에 누가 내게 있으리요 땅에서는 주 밖에 내가 사모할 이 없나이다 26.내 육체와 마음은 쇠약하나 하나님은 내 마음의 반석이시요 영원한 분깃이시라. 25.Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. 26.My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
