12.내가 돌이켜 지혜와 망령됨과 어리석음을 보았나니 왕 뒤에 오는 자는 무슨 일을 행할까 이미 행한 지 오래 전의 일일 뿐이리라 13.내가 보니 지혜가 우매보다 뛰어남이 빛이 어둠보다 뛰어남 같도다 14.지혜자는 그의 눈이 그의 머리 속에 있고 우매자는 어둠 속에 다니지만 그들 모두가 당하는 일이 모두 같으리라는 것을 나도 깨달아 알았도다 15.내가 내 마음속으로 이르기를 우매자가 당한 것을 나도 당하리니 내게 지혜가 있었다 한들 내게 무슨 유익이 있으리요 하였도다 이에 내가 내 마음속으로 이르기를 이것도 헛되도다 하였도다 16.지혜자도 우매자와 함께 영원하도록 기억함을 얻지 못하나니 후일에는 모두 다 잊어버린 지 오랠 것임이라 오호라 지혜자의 죽음이 우매자의 죽음과 일반이로다 17.이러므로 내가 사는 것을 미워하였노니 이는 해 아래에서 하는 일이 내게 괴로움이요 모두 다 헛되어 바람을 잡으려는 것이기 때문이로다. What more can the king's successor do than what has already been done? 13.I saw that wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness. 14.The wise man has eyes in his head, while the fool walks in the darkness; but I came to realize that the same fate overtakes them both. 15.Then I thought in my heart, "The fate of the fool will overtake me also. What then do I gain by being wise?" I said in my heart, "This too is meaningless." 16.For the wise man, like the fool, will not be long remembered; in days to come both will be forgotten. Like the fool, the wise man too must die! 17.So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

CONCLUSION: 사랑하는 성도들이 지혜자와 우매자가 모두 죽지만 그리스도 안에 있는 자는 죽음에도 소망이 있음을 기억하고 살아고 그분께 소망을 두고 살아가시기를 바랍니다. - Lovely brothers and sisters! I pray that you remember that both the wise and the fool die, but those who are in Christ have hope even in death so that you may live with hope in Him.
