1.그러므로 형제들아 내가 하나님의 모든 자비하심으로 너희를 권하노니 너희 몸을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산 제물로 드리라 이는 너희가 드릴 영적 예배니라. 2.너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라. [ESV] 1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. [NLT] 1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. INTRODUCTION: [Periodical Cicadas]
Periodical cicadas are insects that spend most of their lives underground as nymphs, feeding off the sap of tree roots. They emerge to transform into adults and mate. Some periodical cicadas emerge every 13 years and others emerge every 17 years. The males "sing" by vibrating a membrane on the sides of their bodies. After mating, the female makes slits in tree branches and lays eggs there. The eggs hatch six to seven weeks later, the nymphs fall to the ground and go into the soil, and the cycle begins again. The adult periodical cicadas only live three to four weeks.
Two Broods of Periodical Cicadas Will Emerge in the United States in 2024: Periodical cicadas emerge in groups called broods. Starting in late April, Brood XIII (the Northern Illinois Brood, which has a 17-year life cycle) and Brood XIX (the Great Southern Brood, which has a 13-year cycle) will emerge from underground in the Midwest and Southeast, respectively. These two broods have not emerged at the same time since 1803! Experts estimate these emergences could produce more than one trillion cicadas. But don't worry — they don't bite. CONCLUSION: 사랑하는 성도들이 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 뜻을 분별하여 몸과 마음을 다해 그분이 기뻐하시는 삶을 살아가시기 바랍니다. - I pray that you do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you may discern the will of God and live a life pleasing to Him with all your heart and mind.
